Project Overview
HavenStay — Boutique Hotel Booking Platform
Role: Lead UI/UX Designer • Duration: 5 weeks
HavenStay is a fictional travel brand I designed to explore how UX and visual identity can transform boutique hotel booking. The focus was on making travel more personal and building trust between travelers and hosts.
The Challenge
Most booking platforms feel transactional and cluttered. Boutique travelers want unique, curated experiences — but current solutions fail to communicate story, trust, and warmth. HavenStay needed a digital experience that balances elegance with usability.
The Solution
I developed a warm, trustworthy brand identity supported by a minimal, user-first UX:
A streamlined 3-step booking process.
A hybrid map + list search system.
Hotel story sections to humanize each listing.
Verified host badges and transparent pricing for trust.
A design system scalable for mobile-first travelers.
Research & Process
User interviews (fictional personas) revealed that trust, photography, and simplicity drive bookings.
Wireframes simplified the booking flow into three screens with progress feedback.
Visual direction explored warm color palettes, serif + sans typography pairings, and lifestyle imagery.
High-fidelity prototypes were created in Figma, tested with 5 users, and refined based on feedback.
Visual Identity
Colors: Midnight Navy (
#1F2E3D) for elegance, Golden Sand (#E2B646) for warmth, Coral (#F36F5B) as accent.Typography: Cormorant Garamond (serif for headings), Nunito Sans (sans for body/UI).
Logo: “H” doorway mark symbolizing hospitality and welcome.
Results (fictional, portfolio-friendly)
40% fewer clicks in the booking flow.
22% increase in wishlist usage.
90% positive sentiment in user testing (“personal,” “welcoming,” “easier than Booking.com”).
